The directive from my client on this project was to some how tie together Colorado and scuba and make it feel modern. The company already had the name 5280 Scuba. The 5280 being a head nod to Denver's altitude. 

A lot of my inspiration for this came from looking at the design and labeling of space craft in science fiction movies. After a bit of tinkering with multiple fonts I designed the 5280 to feel like the titling on a futuristic submarine. I wanted to keep the scuba line fairly subdued and wanted it to come across as more of a subtitle feel to it.

The result was a logo with a futuristic and technological maritime feel to it.
